ARM1G variant specification
ARM1G  variants are based on the low cost simple design by Dick Moger - see here for the book.

This is intended to be a low cost, simple to build entry level loco for Gauge 1.
There is, of course, no reason why more experienced builders should not use it as a basis for building a more sophisticated loco.

All the mechanical components are available from Just The Ticket and other suppliers.
I am concentrating on producing a series of body/chassis etches for a range of different locos. These will also be available via JTT.

The etches will include all the chassis components in 0.036” nickel silver and a large sheet (or more) of 0.018” NS for the body parts.
Prices will be kept as low as possible, but may vary due to the number of sheets involved. Tenders will obviously push prices up.

The etches are optimised for a steam loco, so no hacking is required. They are designed to go together as easily and accurately as possible - hence a lot of nuts and bolts to hold things together (solder can then be used if preferred, but at least holding the parts together is easy).
Where nuts and bolts are not possible every effort is made to use tabs and slots to locate parts.
A full transfer set (laser printed) will be available - this will consist of complete panels with lining so the loco just needs to be painted black then the transfer applied. Exceptions to this are the boiler cladding and the frames. The latter will usually require painting red on the inside and the company colour on the outside.

The locos are provided with Marshall’s valvegear (mostly etched) to enable remote control. Various parts are provide to make radio control easier.

All etches come with fully illustrated instructions. They also come with photos of the prototype (but only where one exists, is accessible and I have had time to take the photos).

The first loco to appear in this format is the SECR H class, but I have a long list of locos to consider. Let me know if you are interested in a particular loco.  There may not be enough demand, but you could influence my design priorities.

One of my objectives is to promote G1 in the small garden. This will probably be limited to a single track end-to-end branchline given the size of most modern gardens, So expect a lot of branchline stuff.
