Combined carry box/display cabinet – with polycarbonate top and front, the loco sits on

 an inspection pit track which slides out of the box

Carry box with opening end and extendable rails so the loco can be pushed direct onto

 and off track, optional polycarbonate front panel

All boxes are varnished wood, or can be painted to your specification (lined?)

The inspection pit can have a mirror below to show burners.
